The Frog
Fred was pippeting his last solution of the night, then incubation of the new cell genetc clone for 24 hours. In the meanwhile he was dreaming about eating those chocolate cookies that he loves, with milk and then watch his favorite series in the cable channel, he could even grasp with his imagination, how it would happen, all de details and challenged himself that no probability would defy his precise predictions about what would happen after.
Having finished, Fred ordered his bench, took his cells, and started to think about his experiment just right away, immediately he found that something changed on his future predictions. Naturally he reinterpreted his condition with the cell plate on his hands, stared alone in the lab close the midnight... and said. Something went wrong with the probability dynamics of the universe... this means something...
In miliseconds he retook his thought about his experiment and thought about this promoters he introduced to this cells. He was trying to reverse the cell cycle deregulation of this human cancerous cells, introducing 200 promoters linked to a protein network of about 1000 proteins. His simulations draw some interesting results, saying that a restriction phase on G0 would happen while cell reprogramming was carried over, and then synchronous division states woul give rise to normal tissue.
While putting the plate on the incubator, the smell of the heat emanating of it, made him remember again food, somehow this smell stimulated his starved brain. Fred, went out the lab ate his cookies and went to bed immediately, quite different as he predicted.
At the next day, he woke up with this strange sensation about the incubator and his thoughts about predicting the future with his mind only. He had this smell in his nose, and a palpitation that something completely uncommon had happened. Fred took his keys, the pass card for the lab entrance, forgot to take a breakfast and rushed into the lab, while he was approaching, he heard a tumbling noise, desperated somehow, frequent and agonic. In the main hall, people was astonished, with terror but at the same time surprise in their face. Someone said... Fred! your cells!. Fred steps weren't fast enough as his thoughts, he got really desperated in a matter of miliseconds, and then, just in front of the lab, he saw that the incubator was jumping and croaking.
Fred opened the door, and a frog jumped out, touched the floor, kept jumping around all over the lab, and suddenly died, melted in a soup, spilled all over the floor.
Samples of this were taken and analyzed, the cause of death was a massive apoptosis caused by immunological shock. A later genetics report, said that this kind of frogs were supposed to extinct 100 millions of years ago.
After the incident, Fred disappeared and the whole unit was dismantled in a series of legal steps. All data about this experiment vanished.
